Program revealed! Conference on leisure electronics in Lausanne, 2-3 May 2024

The Lausanne GameLab (UNIL-EPFL) and the Confoederatio Ludens project are delighted to announce that the program for the international symposium « Leisure electronics and the emergence of video games: Towards a genealogy of ludic practices and computing artifacts » is now available online!

During this conference, two plenary lectures and sixteen talks will focus on the early days of video gaming, the emergence of video game culture(s), and more broadly, the history of video games across various cultural and material contexts.

This 2-day conference will take place on 2-3 May 2024, in Lausanne (Amphimax 414). It will be broadcasted on Zoom, and discussions will also take place in a hybrid format thanks to a dedicated Discord server.

The plenary lectures will be delivered by Alex Wade – « Genealogies of videogame production, consumption and distribution in the English Midlands » and Maria Garda – « Late but not least: lateness in video games history ».
